- This drawing depicts recently-released French prisoners of war and Alsatian troops that had fought in the German Army, carrying their belongings on their backs, as they cross the frontier and meet two French soldiers (at the right) at Strausbourg in November 1918. They returned home one week after the signing of the Armistice, which required the Germans to release Allied prisoners.

- In these drawings, French prisoners stop for a lunch of soup after their capture on the Western Front. A French African colonial solider is featured in the lower center row of the drawings.

- Russian prisoners of war march past the Royal Palace through the streets of Berlin, probably in the process of changing trains for their prison camp assignments. Civilians on the street cars watch the Russian parade. The German caption for the photograph, "Russian Entry into Berlin," was intended to point the irony that a Russian invasion consisted of millions of Russians captured by the Germans on the Eastern Front.

- The Germans stored bags of clothing in this warehouse room in Zossen-Wuensdorf. Sometimes prisoners arrived in camp in clothing in such bad shape that it could not be cleaned and disinfected. As a result, the Germans maintained a supply of clothing, especially for destitute prisoners.

- British soldiers and sailors check out the the New Doeberitz Empire's early summer concert series (May 1915) on the bulletin board on the side of a barrack at Doeberitz. These bulletins provided POW's with camp news and official orders.

- The prison camp at Friedberg featured a small Russian Orthodox chapel, which included an altar and six icons on the wall. The altar is framed with plants and is decorated with flowers.

- This is the front page of "Le Camp de Goettingen" from the 15 March 1915 issue. This newspaper was published for the French-speaking prisoners of war in the prison camp at Goettingen and included articles on historical and social issues, as well as information on camp activities.

- This is general view of the city of Afion Karahissar where the Turks incarcerated a number of Allied POW's. The Armenian church is the large two-story building next to the large white house in the middle of the photograph. The Turks incarcerated Allied prisoners in two separate compounds at Afion Karahissar: a lower camp in the city and the upper camp at the foot of the mountain.

- Serbian and Russian prisoners line up for their lunch in the prison compound in Nagymegyer. A Hungarian soldier serves the POW's with soup from the large pot in the middle of the compound, under the watchful eye of a Hungarian non-commissioned officer (to the right). Some of the camp's barracks can be seen in the background. Note the white badges on the caps of the prisoners which identifies their POW status.
