- One street map of Detroit and Eastern Wayne County that was printed by the Federal Lithograph Company of Detroit. The multicolor map is printed on white paper at a scale of 1.2 inches = 1 mile. It shows streets, street names, city and township boundaries, section numbers, railroad and streetcar lines, and the locations of new residential subdivisions and industrial sites in Dearborn and southwest Detroit. Several tables along the left side of the sheet give statistics on population growth, projected city boundaries in 1930, and leading industries. The map features residential developments of the "Glover Watson Organization" and the company name appears prominently in several inset advertisements across the map.

The registration form is printed in black text on white paper and includes blank lines that have been completed in handwritten black ink text. It indicates that a copyright was issued to the Richmond & Backus Company of Detroit for a "Book or Form" which is described in more specific detail in handwritten text. The registration form was signed in the lower right corner by "A. R. [Ainsworth Rand] Spofford, Librarian of Congress." An oval-shaped embossed seal of the Copyright Office is located in the upper left corner of the form.

- 2-page letter written by Frederick K. Stearns, President of Frederick Stearns & Co. It was typewritten in blue text onto slightly yellowed, thin linen paper which has a watermark that shows a shield emblem with the words, "Perfection Linen." The letter is dated Dec. 31st, 1900, and the last page is signed in black ink, "Frederick Kimball Stearns." The body of the letter gives a brief overview of the principal persons and companies that were involved with pharmaceutical manufacturing in Detroit in the 19th century. Both pages have several handwritten corrections.

- Certificate of election certifying Hazen S. Pingree's election as Governor of Michigan in 1898. It is affixed with the gold seal of the State of Michigan and red, white, and blue ribbon on the bottom left. The text of the certificate is as follows: "State of Michigan Certificate of Election We the undersigned, State Canvassers, from a careful examination of the Election Returns from all the Counties in the State of Michigan, as received by the Secretary of State do determine, as the result of our investigation, that Hazen S. Pingree has been, by the greatest number of votes, duly elected to the office of Governor of said State for the full term of Two Years from the first day of January, A.D. eighteen hundred and ninety-nine at the General Election holden on the eighth day of November A.D. 1898. Witness our Hands, at Lansing, this fifteenth day of December A.D. 1898. Washington Gardner Secretary of State Geo. A. Steel State Treasurer. Wm. A. French Com'r State Land Office. - Plan for the Konaske Airship, designed by Art Konaske of 180 Mack Street, stapled to a two page note to Russell A. Alger Jr. written on Hotel Griswold stationery, and dated February 17, 1916. The plan shows a profile cut-away of a small military airship with a enclosed gondola with two seats--one for the pilot, and the other for a gunner. The airship's balloon is outfitted with an airfoil, and both vertical and horizontal propellers are employed for lift and propulsion. The note reads: Mr. Russell A. Alger, Dear Sir, Enclosed find blueprint circular of airship, which I hope may prove of interest to you. It is going to be a sure winner and as I am told, you are "Pres. of Aviation Club." Would be glad to have interview at your convenience to explain details and mfg. etc. A phone call will find me at above hotel--Rm 416 for appointment for interview which shall try to make of much interest to you. A admittance, and main floor seat ticket to the Labor Contest Carnival held at the Detroit Light Guard Armory between Wednesday November 28th and December 4th by the Detroit Federation of Labor. The ticket bears a printing of the signature of Louis W. Buckley, Manager. The verso is printed with "Special Grocers' Ticket, Good only Friday, Nov. 30th, 1906. Compliments of National Grocer Company, "Light House Coffee," and has been stamped with the seal of the Detroit Federation of Labor.

Pingree, dated December 4, 1903, written to accompany an account statement four promissory notes on the remaining cost of the construction of her mausoleum. The letter instructs her to sign, and return the notes, and notes that they do on bear interest. The letter is signed by the company's president W.H. Harrison.

- One plan sheet entitled, "Cabin Plan for Strs. 59/60 for Ft. & P.M. [Flint & Pere Marquette] R.R." The drawing consists of black and red ink on linen and shows a plan view of the proposed cabin layout for the wooden-hulled, propeller-driven, passenger steamships. The plan was prepared at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot by Frank E. Kirby for the Detroit Dry Dock Company and is dated May, 1882. (Steamer numbers 59 and 60 were the Detroit Dry Dock hull numbers for the passenger steamships that were known as F.&P.M. No. 1 and F.&P.M. No. 2, respectively.)

- One set of architectural drawings of a residential house. The drawings (Job 276) consist of brown and black ink on linen and shows a 3-story, residential house. Some brown pencil shading has also been added in order to highlight the architectural features. This drawing, shown at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot, was part of a set of nine sheets that were prepared by "J. Lawson Miller, Architect," for the "Roney Land Company." The house is located on Hawthorne Road near Lake Shore Boulevard.

Morrison, president of the Dow Portable Electric Assistant Company of Braintree, Massachusetts to the Electric Service and Appliance Company on 166 Randolph Street, dated December 11, 1901, written in reply to a previous letter from the company. Morrison, or someone writing on his behalf states that "our Mr. Morrison" will be leaving on a trip on Friday, but he will call from his trip if possible. Additionally the letter says that there has been a delay in the manufacturing of the six inch park coils which the Electric Service and Appliance Company has ordered. Morrison's signature closes the letter. It is printed on Dow Portable Electric Assistant Company letterhead, which includes an engraving of a portable receiver built into a carrying case.

The chart was drawn at a scale of 1:40,000 and covers several miles of the St. Mary's River both upstream and downstream of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with information such as soundings in feet, river bottom characteristics, shoreline details, lighthouses, and sailing directions. The chart was printed in black ink on white paper and was published by the Bureau of Topographical Engineers of the War Department (later known as the Army Corps of Engineers). - Hardcover book containing the handwritten minutes from the meetings of Mechanics Company No. 8, as well as its constitution and by-laws, brief accounts of several fires, and some financial records spanning its founding on December 6, 1848 to its dissolution on April 14, 1856, in protest of an ordinance that forbid the company from pulling their hand-drawn fire apparatus along sidewalks. The passages are attributed to the group's secretaries--in order--C.F. Morris, H. Willson, Alexander Lambie, D.C. Whitman, E.P. Warden, John McNamara, Thomas McWilliams, James Cavanagh, and Isaac C. Wallace. The pages following the dissolution of the company include math problems and multiplication tables, the lyrics to the ballad "She Was Bred in Old Kentucky," a drawing resembling a plumbing diagram, the outline of several pressed leaves, and several geometric sketches. The book is bound in a brown cover and "Record," and "Mechanics Fire Co. No. 8," are printed on the its spine. A handwritten inscription on a front flyleaf reads, "April 12, 1856, This book is presented to Isaac C. Wallace by Mechanic Fire Company No. 8."

It consists of a single large sheet of paper that has been folded in half in order to create four pages of black printed text. Several small engraved drawings are included among the advertisements. This newspaper was contained in the lead box time capsule that was removed from the Old City Hall on May 25, 1961.

A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The City has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879. The specifications (Job 244) are bound in a booklet that has two brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy off-white paper that has handwritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Successor to Falkinburg & Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 32 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

- Two copies of a 20 page sewn booklet containing a transcript of the address of Rev. Dr. E. B. Fairfield (ex-president of Hillsdale College) to the Young Men's Republican Club of Hillsdale, delivered on October 5, 1886, urging them to stay with the Republican Party. The speech highlights the differences between the Republicans and Democrats in regards to Reconstruction, temperance, and protective tariffs. Despite his support for their core issue, he also urges that his audience not stray into the Prohibition Party, feeling that the Republicans would better handle the issue of Prohibition rather than a dedicated party.

A dock which extends underneath the bridge is also caught in the fire. The center of the bridge has completely burned. - A book of receipts bound in cardboard. The receipts are for medicines received from Thomas P. Dickinson, for medicines to be resold on commission. The medicines listed on each receipt are Dickinson's Universal C. & C. Annihilator, Dickinson's Universal Life Pills, Dickinson's Universal Strengthening Plaster, and Dickinson's Universal Healing Salve. Only the first three receipts have been filled out. They are all dated 1885. The first is signed by A. Ruttedge, the second by G.R. Roburn, and the third by J. Thatcher. The prices are all expressed in pounds sterling.
