- Black and white photographic print depicting the inside of the Dressler Kiln at the Champion Spark Plug Co. Caption on verso reads: Taken by the Carborundum Company 9-20-1921 - Showing interior of Dressler Kiln (The kiln had been in service for seven months - 2-4-1921 to 9-7-1921). Note particularly the three B mix carborundum chambers in the right foreground. These are right next to the clay chambers and are the last three carborundum chambers in the series of 23. The joints have been scraped a little to show the condition. The chambers have oxidized very badly; particularly at the top where they can be crumbled and ground between the thumb and the palm of the hand. These chambers will be replaced with clay chambers as they heat is not excessive. Note particularly the last of the three chambers - the swelling across the face just above the cenger. This is badly oxidized, and is probably an indication of what would happen to all of the chambers within a very short time.
