- Packard Motor Car Co. advertisement. Printed in black ink on white paper. The advertisement shows a photograph of an automobile show at top. Numerous cars and spectators are shown in a large hall. A caption underneath reads "First night at the Automobile Show. Thousands of people pay admission to see new models of the year. A man can go all through the Show - see the new color schemes, ingenious novelties in trimming and design. What has he really learned?" Text below reads "What can a Man really Learn at the Show." The text of the advertisement describes the "reasonably permanent value" of Packard automobiles. The advertisement was printed in National Geographic; text at bottom reads "Mention The Geographic - It identifies you." The opposite side of the page features an advertisement for Kelly-Springfields. Hand written text in pencil reads "Feb '20."

- Half-folded invitation to a pair of events celebrating George Washington's birthday consisting of an oration given by Rev. Henry Neill at Firemen's Hall, followed by a ball at the Russell House as a benefit for the Ladies' Mount Vernon Association. Details on the events are printed in script on the front. A handwritten message, presumably addressed to Benjamin F. H. Witherell, president of the State Historical Society, is contained within: The Historical Society are respectfully invited to join the procession at 1 1/2 o'clock PM at the Russell House. W.B. Howe, Chairman of [?] "Washington's Birthday 1859," is handwritten on the verso so that it would appear on top when the invitation was folded into sixths.

- Black and white print of collection of five engravings titled "One of the Great Industries of Detroit Illustrated," collected from sketched by C. Upham, taken from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, August 10, 1889. The five engravings, from top to bottom, are: 1. Michigan Car Company's Shop. 2. Detroit Car Wheel Foundry. 3. Detroit Pipe Foundry. 4. Baugh Steam Forge Company. 5. General View of the Plant of these Establishments. The first three engravings are interior views of the plants, depicting men at work in the shops and foundries. The last two engravings are exterior views depicting the lands and buildings of the industries. Mounted on cardboard.

- Certificate, on paper mounted on board, certifying Joseph Belanger as Consular Agent of France at Detroit, Michigan, issued by the United States Department of State and signed by Secretary of State James G. Blaine on April 15th, 1889. The certificate is affixed with the seal of the United States Department of State. The full text of the certificate is as follows: "Department of State To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting: I Certify That, satisfactory evidence having been exhibited of the appointment of Joseph Belanger as Consular Agent of France, at Detroit, Michigan, the President of the United States of America has ordered his recognition as such officer, declaring him free to exercise and enjoy such functions, powers, and privileges as are allowed to the Consular Agent of the most favored Nations in the United States. In testimony whereof I, James G. Blaine, Secretary of State of the United States, have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the seal of the Department of State to be affixed. Done at the City of Washington this 15th day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and the 113th year of the Independence of the United States of America. James G. Blaine"
