Ladies in dresses and hats, and a few gentlemen, are seated around cloth-covered tables, set for tea or coffee and pastries. In the center of the room is a large, raised runway with stairs so that the audience can see the clothing the models are wearing. A lady stands to the right of the platform to announce what each model is wearing. In the background are tall windows with swagged drapery and several lamps hang from the coffered ceiling.

Notes:
Roy Jurgens and Henry Holtvluwer first opened this department store with a third partner in 1912. Their sons and namesakes opened the men's clothing store on Leonard N.W. in 1939. The sons opened other stores and subsequent generations of the family become involved in the business.
