- One street map entitled "Federal Map of Detroit" that was "especially designed for R. L. Polk & Co." The map shows city streets, street names, city and township boundaries, section numbers, streetcar lines, and railroads. The names of former landowners of ribbon farms are shown along the Detroit River along with related parcel numbers and boundary lines. An alphabetical list of street names is shown on the verso. The map was printed by Federal Lithograph Company of Detroit at a scale of 1 inch = 3750 feet and is dated 1919.

- One map entitled "An Improved Edition of a Map of the Surveyed Part of the Territory of Michigan by Silas Farmer, 1835." The map is printed in black ink on white paper and includes color lines at the map border and county borders. It shows the state, county, and township boundary lines in the southern portion of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan as well as northern Indiana and Ohio. The principal meridian and base line for Michigan are shown along with township and range numbers for the public land survey of the state. Cities, towns, and major rivers are also indicated. Areas of private (French) claims are shown along the Raisin River and Detroit River. Inset maps are shown for the Straits of Mackinac, Green Bay, and Iowa County near the junction of the Mississippi and Little Platte Rivers. Lines of latitude are also shown and lines of longitude are given relative to "Washington City" (Washington, D.C.). Printed text beneath the title indicates that the map was engraved by "J. [John] Farmer." Detached is the leather hard-cover entitled "Farmer's Map of Michigan".

The names of former ribbon farm owners are shown along the top of the map. The map was "Compiled by Eugene Robinson, City Surveyor," in 1873.

In addition, the names of former ribbon farm owners (with private claim numbers) are shown along the shoreline of the Detroit River. An advertisement for "Michigan Mutual Life Insurance Company" is shown in the upper left corner of the sheet. Various numbered blue stars are indicated on the map as "Convention Tents" and these may have been part of a Christian Endeavor International Convention which took place in the city in July, 1899. The map was "Published by Silas Farmer & Co., 31 Monroe Avenue, cor. Farmer Street, Detroit, Mich." at an approximate scale of 1 inch = 0.5 miles and was dated 1899.

The reference key indicates that blue lines were to indicate paved streets, red lines were to indicate sewer lines, and buff-colored areas were to indicate fire service limits. However, only a few streets near downtown are marked in red and none of the other colors are shown. The names of former ribbon farm owners are shown along the top of the map. The map was "Compiled by Eugene Robinson, City Surveyor," in 1871.

- One map entitled "D.M. & M.R.R. [Detroit, Mackinac & Marquette Railroad] Land Plan, Part of Private Claims at St. Ignace." The map consists of red, blue, and black ink on linen and shows the property lines, parcel numbers, and names of property owners along a section of shoreline on East Moran Bay at St. Ignace, Michigan. Property being acquired by the railroad or the state for right-of-way purposes is tinted in yellow, red, and blue according to a corresponding legend. The map is drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 50 feet. A handwritten note in the lower left corner shows "D.M.M.R.R. Engineers Office, St. Ignace, March 3d of 87 [1887], J. H. Orvis, Eng."

- One printed map sheet from the "Plan of Private Claims in Michigan Territory as Surveyed by Aaron Greeley in 1810." The map is printed in black ink on white paper and covers the southern portion of the Detroit River region along the west shore of Lake Erie including the "Riviere aux Raisins [River Raisin]", "Riviere au Loutre [Otter Creek]," the "River Huron of Erie," and several other smaller streams and creeks. The southern end of Grosse Isle at the lower end of the Detroit River is also included on this sheet. The map shows the numbers and locations of various ribbon farms (private claims) in the region. Corresponding tables list the name of each property owner, the claim number, and acreage. Boundary lines for townships are also shown along with the corresponding township and range numbers. These numbers extend from T.9.S. [Township 9 South]" up to "T.4.S [Township 4 South]" and from "R.VII.E [Range 7 East]" to "R.X.E [Range 10 East]." A large north arrow is shown in the upper left area of the sheet along with a note concerning magnetic variation. A small inset map of the Huron River is shown in the top center area at a scale of 1 inch = 4 miles. The northern portion of the Detroit River region is covered on a second sheet that was not part of this accession.
