10. Frank Barn

- This barn was built by John Frank on his son, Lucius, soon after the Civil War. It was located at 1356 East Auburn Road and it burned to the ground on August 23, 1979.

He and his son, Clarence, loaded up in the evening three times a week and drove a horse and wagon down Woodward Avenue, which was a gravel road with a streetcar rail in the center. They sold berries and then Clarence would drive back to Rochester while Frank slept. These pickers rode out to the patch from Rochester via Detroit United Railway (DUR) cars. 18. Van Hoosen Barn
- Description:
- The Van Hoosen Barn was 101 feet long and it was destroyed by fire on Palm Sunday in 1968. The village of Stoney Creek can be seen behind the barn.

- A barn raising at Ed Barne's farm located on the south side of Silverbell Road just east of Brewster Road. Portions of the frame were assembled on the ground. The crew raised them using rope, muscle and horses. Women prepared meals. The roof and siding were added a later day. The property was purchased by Barne's father sometime before 1872.

- Description:
- Two men wearing aprons and boots attend to a hoofed animal, which is strapped to a table in a laboratory. The Parke, Davis and Company was incorporated in the 1870s in Detroit, Michigan. The pharmaceutical company opened a facility in Avon Township in 1908, which has the distinction of being the first of its kind to hold a license for the manufacture of vaccines and other biological-based drugs in the United States. Commonly referred to as the Parkedale Farm or Parke-Davis Farm, it was comprised of land along Parkdale Road, bordered by Miller Avenue on the west, Van Hoosen Farm on the north, Dequindre Road on the east, the Michigan Central Railroad (MCR) on the south. Most of the farm buildings were demolished in 1999, but a few original structures remain. The site was owned by various companies over the years and was acquired by JHP Pharmaceuticals in 2007, which controls a parcel of land east of Letica Drive. - Gladys Collins, Clarence Kremer's wife, neighbor Will Fox, and Eliza Jane Kremer, wife of Frank Kremer, "play horse" outside of the Kremer's carriage shop. The occasion is a Ladies' Aide meeting at the Kremer's home. Frank was a buggy, wagon, and carriage maker. He made the underpart of the buggies downstairs and Eliza Jane upholstered the tops upstairs, then they were lowered down and assembled. 48. Frank Barn
- Description:
- A man stands next to a child on a horse in front of a barn that reads Eldorado J.K. Frank above the door while a dog walks nearby. 49. Perry Farm

- Description:
- Two people in a field of sweet peas at the Oakview farm. The D.M. Ferry Company, later known as the Ferry-Morse Seed Company, expanded operations from Detroit to Avon Township in 1902. Oakview Farm comprised the area between South Rochester Road, East Hamlin Road, John R Road, and East Auburn Road. In 1912, the company increased the size of the farm northward, so that it reached to East Avon Road. Oakview was the site of the company’s trial grounds and stock seed breeding operations until 1944.
