- Woman's blue wool knit dress; shift style with hidden elastic waist, boat neckline, and cap sleeves. The dress has white, ribbon top knit stripes 1/4" wide in groups of four, running horizontally down the length of the dress. The 1" hem is secured with a stockinet stitch. One of the first knit dreses imported from Italy.

- A woman's suit that consists of divided skirt and matching jacket of tan linen. The tailored suit has a long jacket with four buttons in front, and two buttons on the cuff of each sleeve. The skirt has eleven buttons on the panel that conceals the pants, and a separate belt. Note: Helen Andrus Merrell Howard, daughter of Dr. Frank D. Howard, married Francis (C.or E.)Merrell c. 1908, and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Original records call this a bicycling suit, but it might have been worn as a riding habit while out west. She later returned to Detroit.

- Woman's full length, black silk broadcloth dress with smocking around the waist and the neckline. The interior is not boned or lined, and has two narrow cords that connect the neck and waist. - Two piece dress set consisting of skirt and top, sepia brown in color. Long skirt is lined with decorative ruffle at hem, front pleats, and bustle. Top is weskit style with stand-up collar, long set-in sleeves, fitted waist, boning, and inner closure at waist. Bodice has twenty three round buttons down front, each with crocheted covering; also, extensive beading on cuffs, neckline, and down the front. Owen, Detroit, circa 1880s.

- Women’s knee length bias cut slip, peach in color. Features spaghetti straps, bias cut, V-neck in front and back, darts on bust, small amount of eyelet embroidery on bodice. Circa 1930-1939.

- Description:
- This two piece dress may have been worn as a wedding gown or was part of a trousseau. It is made of gold-color silk satin, and the bodice is boned with deep points front and back. It has a laced center front closing with elbow length sleeves. The deep "U" neckline is filled with ecru lace and embroidered net, and has fringed ruching. There is lace around bottom of the bodice and at the sleeves. The bustle-back skirt has a very long train with irregular pleats. The front hem has pleated, up-turned curves. The dress has a draped panel at its left side, and is lined with buckram. There is a hook-and-eye closure at the waist. The bodice is labeled Newcomb Endicott, Detroit. It was possibly worn by Kate Bock of Battle Creek, who married George W. Tanner of Indianapolis, October 2, 1882.

- A pair of woman's grey suede, four strap bootines with cut steel bead decoration on the front, and buttons across the instep. The shoes have a cut out section on the front of vamp, and are lined with white kid. Stamped: Sorosis. Purchased at Sorosis Shoe Shop in the David Whitney Building, from Mr. Henry Elliot, c. 1912-1915. They belonged to the donor's mother Jessie Alcorn Widner Colton (Mrs. Clark E. Colton), born February 14, 1870, married April, 1892, died December 4, 1953 (Tucson, Arizona). She lived at 4546 Commonwealth, Detroit. Mrs Colton was a member of the Louisa St. Clair Chapter-D.A.R. Founders and Patriots Society, Detroit.

- Woman's wine color, two piece wool suit, having a three quarter length coat/jacket with a large square collar of wine velvet that is edged with black fur. The coat/jacket's sleeves are tightly fitted with wide cuffs of velvet and fur to match the collar. Additionally, the fitted coat/jacket has a loose flap-like peplum, and three pleats at each side of the waist. Dark, plain wood buttons are down the front of the jacket and serve as a decoration on the peplum, and at each side of the back. The skirt is slightly flared and plain in front, and is gathered into the waistband in the back. A button-on belt is around the back of the skirt only. Worn by the donor's neighbor: Mrs. Ira Kelly. Label: "B. Siegel Co., Detroit." There is an Ira Kelly listed in the 1921-22 City Directory as an auto top builder.

- Woman's wine, navy blue, and white herringbone check suit. The straight skirt has a side ziper closing with a 5" split on the opposite side. It has an faced waist with a facing of wine crepe. The long sleeved jacket has a long-fitted line with shoulders that are heavily padded, and a concealed hook and twist closing in front. The collarless neckline is trimmed with two rows of self-bias strips which extend to the front armholes. The edges of the sleeves have the same bias insets. The jacket is lined with wine crepe. Worn by donor. Label: "Custom made, Bess Schlank, Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles."

- This black and cerise wool plaid dress has a bodice of cerise crepe with a plain neck and short sleeves. The bodice is attached to a full skirt with wide box pleats. There is a stiff net nylon underskirt attached. It has a matching waist length jacket with three self-buttons down the front. The jacket sleeves are elbow-length. Label: "Scassi". - Woman's A-line dress is made of paper with a design depicting the telephone yellow pages. The collar has a bow at the center front, and the armholes are bound in black cloth tape. There are no fitting darts or fasteners. Worn by donor while pregnant with her first child, it was very comfortable. Label: Waste Basket Boutique, by Mars of Ashville, NC, Do Not Wash. This material is fire resistant unless washed or dry cleaned, then becomes dangerously flamable when dry.
