- Description:
- Barkham Mill was located on the west side of Main Street at First Street, on the Clinton River. It was built in 1837 by Johnson Niles and was originally known as Old South Grist Mill. The business changed hands several times and was acquired by Steven W. Barkham and Beal Barkham in 1903. The mill was destroyed by fire in December 1927. - Description:
- The grist mill was built in 1937 by Johnson Niles and passed through many hands before being sold to Steven W. Barkham and Beal Barkham in 1903. It was completely destroyed by fire in 1927. It was located south of downtown Rochester on the west side of Main Street, near First Street and the Clinton River. Commonly known as Barkham Mill. - Description:
- Barkham Mill exterior including bridge, located on the west side of Main Street north of the Clinton River. The photo was taken between 1903 and 1914. In 1880 the mill was owned by Mr. Dawson, located at Main and First Streets. J. C. Curtis and Sons owned it in 1887 and made improvements. In 1903 it was bought by Barkham and Son, improvements made, and operated until World War I. S. W. Barkham's brother was George Barkham of Goodison who was briefly associated with the Goodison Mill.
