Boeotia; Lamps; Glaze; Clay (unfired)
Buff micaceous clay with worn red to black glaze. Lon nozzle has rounding end and concave sides with slight molding running around wick hole and down either side of neck. On top of lamp in high relief is bust of goddess Artemis, front, wearing chiton top of quiver shows above her right shoulder and spear (?) beside it, torch and dog’s head behind her left. Filling hole at back of lamp. Vertical ribbed handle. Concave base and base ring chipped at one side. Top of lamp is especially worn.
