Fragment; Carthage; Lamps; Glaze; Clay (unfired); Slip

Description:

Brick red micaceous clay with traces of red slip or poor glaze. Nozzle and part of base of large lamp. Heart shped band about wick hole. Plain band on either side of neck, leaving depressed triangle between in which is leaf decoration in relief. Lamp flares out on either side of nozzle suggesting there was another nozzle on either side. Base ring. Incised inscription: see photo
