Karanis; Textiles; Wool
Fragment of woven wool fabric with yellow warp and green/blue weft. Along one edge, the wefts encircle the end warp, possibly for tapestry. Approximately 1 cm in from this edge there is a series of weft-wise linen weft-wrapping lines. These lines are each 0.4 cm long and consist of four picks of linen. A few weft yarns near the end of these linen lines appear purple with a few red fibers. There are also several long lines of two picks of linen towards the opposite side.
