Athens; Lamps; Clay (unfired); undecorated

Description:

Fine reddish micaceous clay; unglazed. Small boat-shaped object. Long and circular with pointed ends. Three grooves perpendicular to length decorate one end in front of round hole (wick?) and three more grooves are on other side of hole. Another hole (filling?) half way to other end. Ring of clay partly broken off around other end. Will not stand so holes remain on top.
