Full-length portrait of three Native American lacrosse players intended to illustrate some of the differences in the ways tribes from different regions play the game. The figure on the left (No.1), a Choctaw called Tul-Lock-Chish-Ko (He who drinks the Juice of the Stone), holds two ball sticks and is wearing an ornamented belt with an extending tail made of prairie grass, red face and body paint and what appears to be some sort of vest made of dyed horse hair. The middle figure (No.2), a Sioux called Wee-Chush-Ta-Doo-Da (The Red Man), holds one ball stick and is wearing a pink feather headdress, a breechcloth and belt decorated with pink-dyed prairie grass and feathers and has had his skin painted white with clay. The figure on the right (No.3), a Sioux called Ah-No-Je-Nahge (He who Stands on both Sides), holds a single ball stick and is wearing a feather headdress, a breechcloth and belt decorated with feathers and prairie grass and red body paint.
