Buffalo Hunt, Chase. (From Catlin's N.A. Indian Collection) / Catlin del_on stone by McGahey.
A party of Native American hunters engaging a buffalo herd. One hunter has been forced to dismount after a wounded buffalo fell on top of his horse, while another hunter can be seen standing with one foot on his horse and the other foot on a nearby buffalo as he attempts to escape from another buffalo that is goring his horse. A third hunter prepares to shoot an arrow at a buffalo he has isolated from the main herd. More hunters can be seen in the background.
