Traces of gilding still adhere to red clay ground, which covers much of wooden surface. Modius missing. On left, fifth forelock broken off. Semi-circular bust with boldly carved drapery. Four forelocks preserved. Two vertical corkscrew curls in beard. Attachment hole for modius at top of head.; Wilfong: Bust of Serapis (furniture ornament). Wood; clay; gold leaf.
