Description:
Copy print of photo looking north on Canal Street from the intersection of Pearl Street in downtown. Storefronts, buggies, and people line the streets, and a track for the streetcar runs down the center. Photo circa 1875-1880. Note that Canal Street north from Pearl to the city limits name was changed to Monroe Avenue at a later date.
