Chez Baldwin exterior walls
Two-thirds of the structure was demolished in November 2014 and what was left is pictured here. Called "bastide," it is to be incorporated into luxury condos. This side of the ruin featured a whole wing of two floors, the bottom of which was the writer's study and living quarters. The blue, brown, and pink imprints on the ground-floor level are remnants of the bathroom and small kitchen that Baldwin used while working on his writing in his "torture chamber," as he sometimes referred to his work space.
