Central portion surrounded by mud mixed with brown human hair secured at top with yellow string. Mud rests in green cloth backing. A strip of fragment B was folded over these two pieces to form “eyes”. A folded strip of fragment A was folded over the above and a yellowed yarn was wrapped around them to secure the layers and form a “neck” for the doll. Brown hair (possibly human) appears to have been wrapped around mud and a yellowed yarn wrapped around near the top of the doll’s “head”. The sprang piece (fragment D) was placed behind the doll (head scarf?) and secured, along with the hair and mud, by a 2-ply yarn wrapped four times around the doll and tied at the back.
