Description:

1909 postcard depicting the original building of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, constructed in 1860, one year after the church's founding, on land donated by Mark Norris at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Grove Street. It served the congregation until the present structure was built on River Street in 1923. The postcard is dated March 16, 1909 but the other writing is mosty unintelligible.
