First day of production at General Motors Hydramatic
November 4, 1953 photograph of Harlow Curtice (General Motors President) on the left congratulating Edward Kagy (Willow Run Plant Manager) on right on the first day of production of transmissions at the newly organized Willow Run plant, often referred to as the "Industrial Miracle" because production resumed only 84 days after the August 12 fire destroyed all of the office and warehouse.
