Printed text on verso is advertisement promoting purchase of the carte de visite, with heading: For the Benefit of the Union Banner Bearer, the Union Matrimonial Promoter, &c., or Washington of California.; "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1865, by Frederick Coombs, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York."
