Brenschutz pr: of comp I, 5 Inf.; Table of references identifies use of each building of the fort and surrounding area.; Captain Scott commanded the post in 1842-1845, and muster rolls of his company show that Brenschutz was enlisted at Philadelphia on August 1, 1844, joined his company at Fort Mackinac on October 25, 1844, and deserted from Fort Mackinac July 22, 1845.
