Lamp Handle Fragment; Rome; Lamps; Clay (unfired)

Description:

Wears modius patterned in front. Hair features indicated with hasty slashes and gouges rather than modelled. Hair is back summarily and schematically treated: Locks extend from bulge of head in herringbone pattern. Creme colored clay, solid (?) case in two pieces. Base- prop attached separately and smoothed over. Blue discoloration lower front. Numerous scattered black stains.
