Orange clay with good glaze. On the knob, a wheel pattern; on the edge a wave pattern to the left. Palmette scrolls enclose the design. A: Eros seated facing right on a rock with his head turned around to the left. Nude but wears high boots and a diadem. Mirror in his left hand and a garland in his right. A staff leans against his right arm. B: female head in profile to the left wearing an open rayed cap, necklace and earrings. Relief contour for Eros with the exception of his profile, feet and left hand/ Inner markings in relief line. Applied white for diadem, garland and staff ofEros, and details of his mirror and boots; parts of the rock; ground lines; necklace and earrings and details of women’s cap; dots in the scrolls. Gazda: Lid for storage box (lekanis). Clay with glazed and painted decoration. South Italian Greek Red Figure ware.
