The bag was possibly used to collect samples for the production of Upjohn's pharmaceuticals. The tool is known by a variety of other names including a bun-bag, bum-bag, equidae excrement receptacle, poop catcher, potty bag, poop bag, equine manure tool, horse manure bag and others.
