Miss Myrtie Peek
Champion Long distance and Roman Standing Lady Rider of the World."; "Myrtie Peek was born at Leonidas, Michigan, on March 11, 1866, the last child of John G. and Matilda Peek. She was eleven years younger than her brother Frank, and fifteen years younger than her sister Emma who became Madame Marantette. She made her debut as an equestrienne in 1882. Myrtie died of pneumonia at her home at Silver Lake, Massachusetts, on December 17, 1899.
