Oral history interview with Dorothy Osborn conducted by Alan Brown on October 27, 1989. Dorothy Osborn is the wife of Gerald Osborn, WMU Chemistry Professor in 1939 and later interm WMU president in 1960. Dorothy Osborn discusses her early education, marriage to Gerald Osborn, coming to WMU in 1939, and how World War II effected the university. She recollects the faculty and their wives, her experiences as a faculty wife, and then later as the university president’s wife. She also describes how she and other faculty wives become teachers at WMU as veterns returned to school following World War II.
