Oral history interview with John R. Lindbeck, conducted by John Provancher on October 31, 1990 at Western Michigan University. John Lindbeck briefly mentions his childhood in Minnesota, his military service during World War II and the Korean War. He began his teaching career at WMU in the spring of 1957 teaching courses in basic manufacturing technology and design for manufacturing. He discusses his tenure, the students of industrial education in the 50s, and forming the Faculty Senate. He also discusses his involvement with bringing the metric system to WMU and being part of the National Metric Council of Education. Lindbeck served on the WMU faculty for 34 years, retiring as professor of engineering technology with emeritus status in April 1991. Lindbeck passed way March 2, 2009.
