Oral history interview with Russell Seibert conducted by Alan Brown on December 6, 1998. Continuing from the November 23rd interview, Seibert discusses his career at WMU as Vice President of Academic Affairs. He recalls board members, campus renovations, building the Honors College curriculum, relations with the state representatives, student unrest in the 70s including the bombing of the ROTC building by student radicals and the black action group’s take over of the student union building, difficulties launching the Martin Luther King Program, the transition of WMU’s status as a teachers college to that of a university in 1957, and the launching of several programs including medieval studies and the business college and the college of fine arts.
