Paul Pommer correspondence, 1918-06-06, World War I
Picture postcard from musketeer Paul Pommer, addressed to his brother Ernst Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Postmarked Glogau, June 6, 1918. The postcard’s image features the hospital grounds in Glogau where Pommer stayed, identified as Festungslazarett Glogau. Pommer’s military information is handwritten on the top right. On the back, Pommer writes that he received Ernst's last letter. Then he describes his day, where on Sunday Pommer visited a preacher. At midday, he plan sang in a chorus with the church. Pommer adds that the program is very beautiful, so much so that it helps him get over things. He describes the picture on the front as his hospital and sends his heartfelt greetings.
