A peep behind the curtain at Drury Lane / J.S., f.

Description:

Sheridan (left) speaks through a small aperture in a curtain which he holds open, addressing musicians in the orchestra pit at right, "D--n 'em don't play God Save the King." Behind the musicians are the heads of some of the audience shouting, "Play God save the King." Cf. George.
