Saline Public Library at 201 S. Ann Arbor Street
When the Saline Public Library at 105 N. Ann Arbor Street became too crowded, the Schleh building at 201 S. Ann Arbor Street was considered an ideal location by community leaders. It was purchased and renovated for an expanded library facility in 1967 with the help of the Saline United Fund and volunteer workers. This building had previously been a church, a residence, a mortuary, and a hospital. In 1983, the library became the Saline Area Public Library to recognize the funding and usage of the surrounding townships. The library remained at this location until a building site at 555 N. Maple Road was developed for the newly created Saline District Library, which opened in 1994.
