Spencer Cemetery Memorial Marker
Description:
August 1941 photograph of Spencer family memorial marker, listing names of family members buried there, at the Spencer Cemetery on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Spencer Lane. Named after the early land owners, the cemetery was replaced (but not the actual graves) by the Spencer School and its playground. Members of the Grove Spencer family buried here include Grove Spencer (1806-1854).
