White House Wood Gavel Presentation
October 1952 presentation of gavel made of wood removed during the 1950 renovation of the White House (dating from the 1817 rebuilding of the structure). U.S. Representative George Meader is presenting the gavel to Ypsilanti Mayor Carl Scheffler.
