William H. Davenport

Description:

William H. Davenport came to Saline with his mother from Ypsilanti when he was 12 years old. Worked in a store uptown. In 1865, he built the Citizen's Bank Building as a store. In 1885 started the Citizen's Bank. In 1909, he hired Carl Curtiss and died the same year. He built the house at 300 E. Michigan Avenue in 1875.
