- The building is located "on Market St., the second church built in Grand Rapids. Williams St. S.W.” (On back of photograph in pencil). Large but simple two-story wooden building with attic and two chimneys. Appears to be used as an apartment building, with fourteen visible standard sash windows, and four separate entrance doors, one of which bears the address 239. At the door farthest away two African American women are standing, with one holding a large washtub. A large white cloth is hanging from an upstairs window. Utility pole with wires and an old gas (?) streetlight is in the foreground.

- Large, square 2-story (plus ground level) building on the corner of Lyon and Ransom, built of variegated split stone. Photo is taken from the corner of the house, showing front and one side. Part of a wing attached to the other side of the house can be seen on the right-hand side of the photo. The two side windows on the main floor flank a larger arched aperture, possibly a door, although no steps can be seen due to foliage. Tree leaves hide much of the front of the house. A small wooden porch with side steps leads to the front door. The porch has a wooden railing and wooden latticework beneath. Another porch with steps accesses the wing. Three rock terraces lead up to the front lawn, which bears the sign “Private, Keep Out.”

- Major Watson house, corner of Sheldon and Fulton, front view. Torn down about 1928. Partially demolished two-story Victorian style brick house. The roof is completely gone. Workers stand atop the remaining structure. At the left side of the house, a railed balcony tops the off-center front entrance portico. The corner of the house has a tower room on both floors (although there is no tower). The main floor of the tower has its own roofline, with interesting decorative scrollwork above. In the distance on the right side of the image is a building with the sign “[Y] W C A”, (the “Y” is blocked by a tree). On the other side of the house, set back behind an ironwork fence, is another unidentified building.
